I'll Miss You Nan.

A brain tumor finally took my Grandmothers life this morning.

She held on for so long but no matter what she or the doctors did, they couldn't win and now she's in a far better place, strutting her stuff with her first husband (who sadly died when my Mom was young) with her ankle bracelets on, smelling of Cerutti 1881, driving her double exhaust Super Gran machine.  I know she's probably very happy up there.

Bye Nan, I really will miss you. x

Praying for you and your family and your wonderful-sounding Nan right now...

It seems that you may have taken after her...the way you describe her sounds a bit like the way you are yourself!!! :)

dinagideon - I am totally like she was...I even look like her. I wore cerutti for years, just because she did and if you ever wonder where I got my hint of boho from....now you know!

Oh, honey. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I've just lost a grandfather recently, but take comfort in knowing that he is in a much better place, probably stroking a baby grand somewhere, playing to his heart's content. :)

And dinagideon's right! I can totally picture your Nan as a cool, chic, take-no-BS kinda lady - just like you! ;)

Oh Cloggsy, I am so sorry for your loss of your grandmother. I can tell how much you admired and loved her. I was very close to my father's mother. I still think about her, tell my children about her, and try to be like her. I think I can imagine how you feel about her. She died when I was married only two years, and never got to meet my children. I know how glad you are that you got to be with her recently and she got to meet your sweet daughter! She will be with you in your heart always.

Chloe, I am so sorry for your loss. How wonderful for your Grandmother that she got to meet the lovely Emma. I wear Cerutti every day and when I spritz tomorrow I will think of your lovely Nan. God bless.

Ladies, thank you so much for your sweet words. It really hasn't hit me yet, but when it does, I better hide the J.Crew credit card as I can see a rather large grieving dent being made.

What?! I shop when I'm sad, angry, happy...it's therapy and covers all problems. Shoot me.

If she was reading this (my Nan) she'd totally agree...she purchased about 200 pairs of shoes throughout her illness...guess I really am like her!

I am so sorry your family is in my prayers. My grandma died when I was 12 and I tried to make Chanel #5 "my" scent because my nana wore it. I think now I can pull it off but back then? Umm not so much
